Hi, this is my first post, and I'm from Panama so my English is not good enough.

Well my problem is that I'm configure a NAS with CIF service for 3 Windows 7 PC's, and I want to know if a I can make that the user connection have timeout so the user account log off automatically, in Windows 7.

Thank you for your help, and sorry if I has some English mistake.

There is a place in the CIFS configuration for "auxillary" parameters. If you do a search for the manual for "smb.conf", there is a setting called "deadtime" which I think MIGHT be what you are looking for. The section for "auxillary parameters" is where you would add that setting.

The value of the parameter (a decimal integer) represents the number of minutes of inactivity before a connection is considered dead, and it is disconnected. The deadtime only takes effect if the number of open files is zero.

This is useful to stop a server's resources being exhausted by a large number of inactive connections.

Most clients have an auto-reconnect feature when a connection is broken so in most cases this parameter should be transparent to users.

Using this parameter with a timeout of a few minutes is recommended for most systems.

A deadtime of zero indicates that no auto-disconnection should be performed.

Default: deadtime = 0

Example: deadtime = 15
