Hello all,

I am having an issue when using the search function in win10 file explorer the search returns no results even if there is something that matches 100%.

Can't seem to find anything about this issue, not sure if this is a standard freenas thing or whether it is an issue.

Any info would be greatly appreciated.

Cheers.

Probably has absolutely zero to do with freenas and more to do with your windows client not indexing smb shares.

Yeah I went down that path already windows being windows and all

I have spoken to some of the other people dealing with this and it was working but has stopped all of a sudden

There are also 3 win10 PC's having the same issue

Search function should really handled by server because it has higher throuput and do not suffer latency as seen on LAN.
Even if Windows was able to build a search index on LAN, which it might, may take a huge amount of time before it is actually useable.
I think indexing only works in Windows when indexing has completed entirely. If it is still indexing, the search will not be possible.

Indexing worked only a few days ago.

It was very fast also just stopped all of a sudden has been working for weeks.
