(NOTE: I am moving this question here from the wrong sub-topic)

I have only seen one or two threads on this issue, all from a year or more ago, and I'm not sure if it isn't working because I'm on 9.10 or if I'm just an idiot (probably the latter).

I tried to follow THIS example to configure a CIFS share, but when I try to edit the user permissions, I get an error stating "Failed to enumerate objects in the container. Access is denied." I only see three users whose permissions I can edit: Everyone, HomeNetwork (group created in the process), and HomeUser (user created in the process). Changing the permissions on any of these results in the same error.

Current permissions are set to Read, Read & Execute, and List Folder Contents. I cannot delete or rename any files or directories at the moment.

Here is a screenshot of the permissions in my "Primary" pool. The dataset under it is titled "Media" and permissions are identical.

Thank you in advance! I'm enjoying learning, I just wish there were an easier way for a noob to learn these things without pulling out my hair!

Thank you so much! Turns out, the only thing I missed was logging in as the user when I mapped the drive. I have an additional question regarding how this particular way of logging in works:
When you go into Network and click on the NAS (in your case "TARDIS" [almost named mine the same :D]), then click on the data set (in your case "Shared"), would it automatically use the permissions of the user? Or would you have to map it to a drive letter in order to make it work? And would it automatically use the user permissions of the mapped drive by going in that direction? I highly doubt I will every go that way again, now that you have helped me figure out the problem, but I am curious as to how the protocols work on that level.

Widows by default will try to use the credentials of the currently logged on user. If what you have setup differs, then it would be better/easier to map a drive using the proper credentials.
