I have been trying to find a way to stream movies that I have in the MP4 format from my FreeNas to my Roku 2XS. I have tried modifing source code that points the Roku to point it to the FTP connection that has the movie but it won't work. Any suggestions?

I don't know anything about Roku, but I use an Apple Mini connected to a TV running Plex and I stream media off my FreeNAS (using AFP shares, you can do the same with CIFS).

You didn't mention which version of FreeNAS you were using. If you grab the Multimedia version of FreeNAS 8.0.3-p1 or 8.0.4, you might try using MiniDLNA if your Roku is DLNA compliant. There's also Serviio, but that's whole other ball of wax if MiniDLNA doesn't work for you.

Is there a way that I can integrate the Plex server into FreeNas?
