Hi,

I am basically trying to create an application (plex) with a folder mount that is an rclone drive....
I saw somewhere I can create a mount point under storage but I can find that option?or is it no longer available?

Thanks

Depending on the version of Plex you're using, the options are slightly different...

TrueCharts has a section for "Storage and Persistence".

For the Additional App Storage part, add some storage of the Host Path type... that should seem sensible when you get there.

For the Official Plex app, they call the section "Storage".

After you tick the box "Enable Host Path for Data Volume", you get the options to select a path on your host to mount.

I think you've lost me... what is it you're trying to do?

Use rclone to sync something to cloud storage but then also mount that into plex?

Ok..... all my movies/tv shows are on a google drive.
My setup is very simple....I have an LCX container with rclone installed, drive is mounted and I am passing the media folder to a plex docker.

I would like to migrate plex to truenas scale....and i am sure i did it before but don't really remember how.

I see rclone is installed on the host already - great
if i mount my google drive to /mnt/media -> not happy [Errno 95] Operation not supported: '/mnt/Bar1-plex'
if i mounted outside then i can't mount it to plex
If i create a sym link it's also not working...

Right now i think the only solution is to install rclone inside the pod?
I see some information about "setting up a mount point" but i can't find it anywhere in bluefin....

I think OP is trying to use rclone to mount cloud storage to the NAS (which is something TrueNAS as such has never supported), and in turn use that storage as a host path for Plex.

I Understand it's not supported, but is it possible?

I'm not aware of a way to do it, but I can't say for sure it's impossible--though if you aren't storing the media on the NAS, why have a NAS at all? But searching other threads here for rclone might find something useful--I think it's more likely to have been discussed under CORE than under SCALE.

Well I got it working but will require some testing...
rclone mount to outside /mnt
symbolic link to /mnt
I think maybe it wasn't working the previous time because i had "enable host path validation" ticked

And yes i can imagine it's probably not recommended but i am testing in a vm right now, my new NAS will be delivered in a few month anyway and I will decide then.

For the question why i am using NAS and a google drive for media.

My NAS is not going to be used for media at all (but for everything else), movies and tv shows i am using someone elses shared drive.
