Bought a TrueNAS mini, reinstalled with TrueNas Scale and after a couple of years the internal SSD died. (ie the OS usb looking drive so data was fine). Support gave me a default "We can not help you message because you are out of warranty. Plese post in the forum for help" (Still angry about that since I was just asking for the drive part ID not a replacement part). Ended up replacing the internal usb looking drive with a cheap ssd. OS Install and data recovery worked perfect but now the fans on the mini run at 100% all the time. IPMI access doesn't work and all I have is the default bios settings.

Did re-installing somehow re-flash the bios (uefi) or something? Can I flash it back to a working ipmi system? Has anyone else seen something like this?

Any help on this would be greatly appiecated.

Don't know if any of this will help or not.
The usb looking thingy is a SataDOM module plugged into the SataDOM USB port which is usually port A. I think it's 16GB. Depending on system you can also use the m.2 slot on the motherboard for the system. Maybe the motherboard battery needs changing if you think everything went back to BIOS defaults. You should be able to make the needed bios settings from BIOS and save.

Most servers with IPMI have a sticker on the chassis with the default password for access

If you think IPMI may have gone to defaults, then Access BIOS by pressing Delete during the splash screen and then go to Server Mgmt tab and open the BMC Network Configuration options. Set the options if necessary or just find out the address if it's static.

Connect to the TrueNAS Mini out-of-band management port by entering the IP address into a web browser from a computer
Unless you made changes the default username is in all caps: ADMIN
The sticker on the back of the system should have your systems IPMI password.

You can also access IPMI from the network tab in Truenas and set it up there and also access it from there. . Scroll to the bottom [IPMI] and click on the Channel 1. It will open the IPMI setup page. Also the extrenal manage icon (box with arrow) is on the right of the Channel 1 area
