Hi
In my setup the DC is virtualised and resides on a datastore which comes from my FreeNAS box via ISCSI (no i don't want to hear comments about it :) ).
My FreeNAS box is also in the domain for CIFS shares.
Now when i have to restart FreeNAS in case of a crash or so, the DC is also not available meaning that the boot process will get stuck at multiple points and i have to press CTRL+C to continue.
Then the ISCSI target (CTL) gets started, the DC comes up and i can join the FreeNAS box the domain .
So the boot process is:
AD join (fails)
CTL (ISCSI)
The question is now if somebody knows wheter NFS gets started before the AD join during the boot of FreeNAS?
Because then i would be able to have the DC on an NFS share and could (hopefully) get around this problem.
Cheers,
Thomy
