Hello,
I been setting up a FreeNAS 3.9.1 box over the past month and every thing has been fine.
Just have a question I apologize in advance if it sounds stupid.
I'm using compact flash for the boot drive.
Freenas recommends the boot disk should be at least 8gb in size which mine is.
However the boot tab shows the following information regards Boot disk space.
Size: 7.6 GiB
Used: 715.5 MiB (9%)
What is the other 91% of unused space for? based on these figures I see no reason why I can't use a 4gb card.
Am I missing something?
Regards

Hi dlavigne,
Thanks for the info, the reason I asked was that I have 5 x 4gb industrial grade CF cards sat doing nothing.
I did buy 2 x 16gb Sandisk Ultra cards with the intention of upping the disk size to 16gb but for some reason when I attached to my 8gb boot disk to mirror the system it just produced repeating errors.

only difference I can see between the two CF cards is the original is a UDMA4 and the Sandisk is a UDMA5

Problem appears to be with the Sandisk Ultra found a Transcend 16GB x133 that appears to be working correctly
