I know there is a plugin for Tranmission but is that the best client? I still use uTorrent on Windows and a network drive but I want to get off that Windows box. I use the RSS feed to add torrents and like that feature. I also would love to somehow migrate all the torrents I'm currently seeding (>300). Anyone have tips or a good place to start?

I'm still messing around but I decided to go with Deluge. Took some work to get it installed. I'm still just playing with it right now before I make my final decision.

yes but there have been tutorials *somewhere* saying how to make deluge run a script once the DL is finished to move the torrent to rtorrent for long term seeding.

Oh ok that's interesting. Do you run that setup? What are the advantages?

Basically here are the reasons why

deluge advantages
  • has an easy to use webui
  • is aggressive at downloading/uploading
deluge disadvantages
  • memory hog
rtorrent advantages
  • easy on memory
rtorrent disadvantages
  • no webui
  • slower on initial downloading
