Best Syncing software

I'm getting to a point where I think I will sync specific folders from my TrueNas server to my Drobo.
I've always been a big fan of Karen's Replicator, which I've used for the past 10 years to back up my files from drive to drive. It's always done the job and it's always been "Simple". FreeFileSync is another software I've tinkered with but never really used in my flow as Karen's been always a One-Two click.

Now I know TrueNas has plugins that can do this, just want to know what's something automated, yet powerful and simple, that I can set up in TrueNas to do this for me, instead of the app running on my Windows PC. Down the road, I'll like to set up a Synology in another house to sync my TrueNas folders from this house. (Of course, I'll copy all my local before setting it up in the other home).

Powerful and simple usually don't go hand in hand. So depending on what exactly you mean, there may be a challenge.

I would like to throw in two other aspects: 1) widely used, and 2) likely not going away soon.

With those aspects, and the fact that it is supported on many OSes, I ended up with Syncthing. For me it has the advantage that I can have a set of files locally on various laptops for offline use. Also, it is a sort-of backup if those files are on say 6 machines.

EDIT: Syncthing also works great for server-to-server replication.

also syncthing is a sort-of backup
if one chooses to keep versions of files or keep deleted files for a defined period of time
(snapshots of the specific datasets is another layer of backup safety)

I guess wide use is important as well. I would like a company that's been around and is still getting supported in the future.

After doing research on Syncthing, it looks like the piece of software I need. I just tried to install the plugin (Version: 1.20.1_5), and it failed.
(Error: Syncthing had a failure Exception: RuntimeError Message: pkg error: - syncthing :,ca_root_nss :,nginx : Refusing to fetch artifact and run post_install.sh! Partial plugin destroyed)

The plugin system has its challenges.

I have installed Syncthing based on this video from Tom Lawrence and it worked well for me.

I use RslSync for Windows 10 PCs syncing crucial data to Core and then backing up to MEGA and Backblaze B2
