Is there an official Android app planned for TrueNAS Scale? Or a better mobile version of the dashboard? Or is there one for TrueCommand?

No, I have not seen, nor heard of anything in that direction.

The developers are still working on the core functionality of Cobia and I'm not sure they even have a mobile app on the roadmap at all.

Make a feature request (from report a bug at the top of this page) if that's something important to you.

Its a good discussion topic.. what do you and the Community need?

How bad is the current dashboard on a mobile device?

App or mobile friendly dashboard?

TrueCommand (CORE & SCALE - most versions) or TrueNAS SCALE?

I would think any mobile App should concentrate on these features to begin with;
  • Status of various items:
    • Pool status
    • Any replication task status
    • Pool & dataset, (if using quotas), percent full
  • Simple trouble shooting data gathering, (not necessarily fixing):
    • Disk failures
    • Scrub failures
    • App or task failures
Lots of people may want a full blown GUI via their phone. But, trying to implement a full blown GUI and yet still have it both secure and relatively easy to use can take a long time to develop and debug.
