alternative torrent client

ive bought a miniitx machine and setup freenas mainly to reduce the power consumption of my torrentbox. turns out the transmission plugin is
a) very limited in configuration and use
b) has some issues with permissions

is there a way to install rtorrent ? (i found "rtorrent-0.9.2_1-amd64.pbi" but have no idea how to use it after adding the plugin...)

Nobody is forcing you to use the plugin.
