Struggling Newbie Have searched forums for hours.

TrueNAS does not find drive connected to 9211-8i controller. No error messages-just does nothing
Tested in Win 10 machine - works perfectly - Controller recognized, shows disks, has access to files on disk
Avago Configuration utility shows IT mode. See signature items and attachment.
I Flashed the motherboard BIOS to the latest version. 4212 2019/08/28
I installed TrueNAS Core in BIOS mode, not UEFI, Problem? I can save Config and reinstall if necessary.

Is there something that has to be done to to controller via flash other than IT mode?
It came from eBay vendor in IT mode. I have not attempted to Flash myself.
I read the highly detailed Resource on Flashing, but didn't find anything I understood as required other than IT Mode.

Don't know why it works in Win 10, but not TrueNAS Core

Any help would be greatly appreciated

How do you determine that your card does not work in TrueNAS?

Depending on where you bought this card, it may be counterfeit. But I am no expert on this and would refer the details to others.

In addition, you should replace the NIC with an Intel one.

Your card is not found or you don't see HDD's in TrueNAS?
Start the shell and execute:
Code:
dmesg | grep -i lsi

Paste here to check if the card is recognized.

Did you not look at my attachment. The system recognizes the card. That's how I got to the Avago Configuration utility.

I'll repeat myself: It works in Windows 10 PC and in Unraid(Not ZFS).

Drives do not appear in TrueNAS is how I know it is a TrueNAS issue.

I look at the attachment and understand that the Windows and Unraid detect the card but you need to check what TrueNAS is detecting and witch driver is loaded.
To collect this information you can execute in TrueNAS shell:
for controller and driver
Code:
dmesg | grep -i lsi

for disks
Code:
dmesg | grep '^da[[:digit:]]'

I give up

Moved Drives, Controller, NIC and boot to an old box with AMD FM2 board and it works great.
