22.12.0 - Seems to "fall asleep"?

Hi all! I'm new to TrueNAS. I just set up a very basic home NAS with TrueNAS Scale 22.12.0.

CPU: AMD A10-6700 4 core 3.7ghz
RAM: 8gb DDR3
Mobo: Something stock Asus
Storage: 120gb HDD - Boot, 1tb HDD Storage
Graphics: EVGA GTX 960

This is mostly just some old parts I had lying around, and I have two 10tb drives on the way to add in. The 1tb is just to get things up and running.

Anywho, the issue I'm having is that if the system is idle for a while, it appears to just go to sleep. I can't access it from either of my computers (one Windows 10, one Linux Mint) either direct access to storage or thru the web browser. So long as I transfer a file every little while or something, it seems to stay active. Anyone have any ideas?

Thanks all!

I would first suspect "Mobo: Something stock Asus" which you seem to think is sufficient for a "Hardware spec"? I most definitely cannot google that.

TrueNAS is targeted at enterprise hardware. using "old parts lying around" is generally a mixed bag of incompatible and barely working. fine for testing and learning, but this feels like you are trying to make it your end product.
there are other NAS OS'es that would likely work much better. OMV, unRAID are first to mind. you only have the bare minimum of RAM.

You need to check the options in your unspecified mobo's BIOS for C states and power settings.

In particular, AMD's cool 'n' quiet should be disabled and C states also.

I was doing my best to give as much information as I had on hand at the time. If I were an enterprise customer, I would likely be calling the support line and not posting on a forum.

I will give that a look, thank you very much.

I found an AMD PowerNow mode as well as a C6 mode in the bios which upon some searching seem like one or both could be the cause of the issue. I have disabled them and will report back if the machine stays running today.

Server has stayed up all day, so it appears that was the solution. Thank you all again.
