Hi 2 everyone. Need help please.

MB and system: ASUS E35M1-I (Realtek 8111E) + 8GB RAM, 6 x 3TB HDD. TrueNAS 12 U5.1

I read carefully many topics about 30$ Intel NIC but I can't use it at the moment. 10 years ago when I did that 1st system I resolved that problem with intsalling that NIC. Now I have to use my last PCI-E slot on mobo to install bootable ssd there.

At the moment I'm 100% sure that integrated NIC is working as during installation it starts going green only after re0 is up (the same time on RT56U green light is changing orange). So I think there's no driver problem. Or I hope that it could be solved.

No-Go here : Realtek are worst than terrible with TrueNAS. You need to replace that NIC / provide another one. Intel are the recommended ones.

Too bad, but that does not make the Realtek any more usable...

Ending up with 0.0.0.0 usually happen when the system does not receive any DHCP offer. You can search on your DHCP server side or try to configure a static IP address instead of a DHCP but again, nothing of data will make the Realtek any more usable. Terrible performance, data corruption and more will still happen with that crappy NIC.

Thanks Heracles,

I tried to set a static IP. But there's no ping between NAS and router. That's strange. Now trying to change cable, the last change as BIOS on MB already updated :)

Unfortunately, we can not do remote debug when the setup involves something that is known not to work... You will have to change that NIC or do it yourself....
