installing in USB as HDD

hi could anyone tell me how can i install freeNAS in USB drive and not in the HDD?

What version of freenas are you running? If it's 0.7x you are on the wrong forum..

no i new to FreeNAS, and i would like to install the latest one only. so i was thinking i could just boot the os from usb and using it as primary HDD rather than wasting the whole HDD. how to do that?

Follow Yatti420's link to the documentation for instructions on installing it to a flash drive.

Ensure that the flash drive is at least 4Gb.
